Giving is a part of our worship.
We give back to God because he has first given so much to us! Regular monthly giving is also vital to our mission as it enables us to plan impactful, long-term projects to reach more people with the love of Jesus. There are lots of ways to give financially into the life of SPS.
Our treasurer, Dave Watherston, is responsible for ensuring that we steward everything God gives us really well. He’d love to hear from you, if you have any questions please do get in touch...
How to Give

Bank Transfer & Standing Order
To set up or amend a standing order, log in to your online banking or visit your local branch with our bank account details:
Account Name: PCC of St Paul Shadwell
Account Number: 20664553
Sort Code: 40-11-58
Quote reference as: your first name and surname.
Once you have set up or amended your standing order, please email us so we can identify your gift and thank you.
Sunday Services
You can give by cash, cheque, credit or debit card at any of our Sunday gatherings. Head to the Discover Stand at the back of church for more information or to use the card machine or just as ask one of our amazing stewards for assistance.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, please consider filling in a Gift Aid declaration. This increases the value of your donation by enabling us to claim an additional 25% from HMRC.
The simplest way to enable Gift Aid is to give a one-off donation of any size at sps.church/givenow and tick the Gift Aid box, we can then keep your declaration on file. Paper declaration forms are also available on request on Sundays or at the SPS office.
Charitable Aid Agencies
You may wish to give to SPS via a charitable aid agency such as Stewardship, CAF, or Charitable Giving. These agencies are useful for those who give to multiple charities and wish to have their giving recorded in one place or for those who wish to give anonymously to SPS.
Some agencies such as CAF American Donor Fund also offer a more tax-efficient method of giving for US taxpayers.
Payroll Giving Via Employer
Many employers offer Payroll Giving which allows you to give directly to SPS from your salary before tax is deducted. This means if you give £100 per month and are a basic rate taxpayer, the gift will only cost you £80 from your net pay. If you pay a higher rate of tax, £100 a month will only cost you £60 from your net pay. To find out if your employer offers Payroll Giving, contact your HR office.
Employer Matched Giving
Many employers offer matched giving schemes. In most cases, the company will match your donation pound-for-pound up to a specific amount; a handful of organisations will even double your gift.
Contact the Human Resources or Social Responsibility Office at your workplace to find out if they operate a matched giving scheme.
Some employers may not match giving for religious purposes, though most will match gifts to our social transformation ministries such as the Night Shelter. If you require advice on how to use matched giving, or need help allocating your giving for match giving purposes, please contact the Office.
Amazon Smile
You can now also support the life and work of SPS whilst you shop for your usual items, via Amazon Smile. This special portal sees Amazon donate a small percentage of what you spend on millions of items back to us as your chosen charity. Just follow these three simple steps:
Visit smile.amazon.co.uk
In the search bar, search for “St Paul’s Shadwell”
Select “The Parochial Church Council Of The Ecclesiastical Parish Of St Paul's, Shadwell” and you’re ready to go!
This scheme has already seen Amazon donate over £1.5 million to charities, so we pray that your shopping can now also be of benefit to the work of the church.
